Psychologyx- Multiple Intelligence, Howard Gardner
Howard Gardner says that there are seven categories in which each person has the advantages or disadvantages in that category. He calls this division as multiple intelligences. Gardner conduct further research on Alfred Bine research completed in France in 1900, at Harvard University.
The results of the study Binet, the basis on the establishment of an intelligence test. IQ (Intellegence Quotient) is the result of measurement by Binet.
Intelligence test this model became the basis for developing a test that is quite popular in the United States, Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT),
SAT and Binet tests produce two types of intelligence, verbal and math. If a person can do both well, he will be 'smart' and have a better chance to go to college. However, what if that does not?
Gardner proposes that there are other intelligences besides these two. The purpose of Gardner is that we are not fixated on two things. Thus, we can help your child progress with better. In addition, we can find an appropriate activity for your child to develop optimally.
Here's Multiple Intelligences Howard Gardner proposed:
Kinesthetic, using the body to solve problems, express ideas and feelings. Actors, athletes, dancers, sculptors, and mechanics have a more powerful kinesthetic intelligence.
Interpersonal, understanding mood, feelings and needs with others. These include, salesman, teacher, counselor, and the people who we call when we need.
Intrapersonal, able to understand ourselves with the development of good self and use it to bring yourself toward better.
Linguistics, has advantages in the use of words. Commonly associated with storytellers, politicians, comedians, and writers.
Logical-mathematical, understand and be able to use numbers effectively. And able to describe the problem well. Researchers, programmers, and accountants here.
Musicals, like to deal with the music. It's found in many areas such as, composers, critics and music lovers.
Spatial, visual spatial ability (understanding of the space) is accurate, so that they can work effectively.
Hopefully, once we understand, we can educate your child better and without paksaan.SAT and Binet tests produce two types of intelligence, verbal and math. If a person can do both well, he will be 'smart' and have a better chance to go to college. However, what if that does not?
